HI EVERYBODY!!
Chicago has a lot of bridges that go up and down, but there is a very special one at Wells Street. These pictures will tell you more about it.
See you later!
The Wells Street bridge is unique to the Wacker Drive project. It is one of only three multi-level bridges, and is the only one that handles the elevated trains of the CTA.
Approaching
the Wells Street construction site. LOTS of boats moving up towards
their winter resting places. This is the Clark Street bridge, with the
boats heading west towards... |
and
under the LaSalle Street bridge. It's kinda funny to watch people actually
try to go up to the leaf that is still down. |
North
leaf of Wells Street bridge just starting to go up... |
and
up! |
with
the Orleans Bridge rising in the background, you can see the beginnings
of the deconstruction of Wacker at Wells. |
Shot
from the LaSalle Street bridge, almost all that remains of Wells at
Wacker is the upper train tracks. |

close and personal. |
Looking
down INSIDE the street at Wells. |
The
dentist across the way must have a new perspective on the concept of
cavaties! |
A
gapping hole where once was a street. |
Wacker
Dr., just east of Wells Street.. |
..and
just west of it as Wells (pun intended!) |
But
all is not destruction here, for this is October after all..and time
for pumpkins! |
Pretty
big ones too! |
