penguin chick pictureHI EVERYBODY!!

We don't get a lot of mountains or anything like that in the Antartic, so it would be pretty cool to visit a place like Gatlinburg sometime.  Phil and Angie seemed to have a lot of fun there.

See you later!

Gatlinburg, and it's neighbor to the north, Pigeon Forge are kind of like Las Vegas, but without the gambling.  Very, very touristy!  What they DO seem to have is a church or knife shop on every corner!

One last thing to say about the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area:

"You want done, more?"

Angie, waiting for our guests to NOT arrive at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center
Sunset approaching the mountains.
This tunnel only goes northbound towards Pigeon Forge.  The mountain narrowed enough so they didn't need to make one southbound!
What more can I say?
Ride 'em Angie Oakley!
Sort of like American Graffiti
Like I said, a church on every corner?
Cooter's Place, from the original Dukes of Hazzard.
The Hazzard County Sherriff's car.
Daisy Duke's jeep!
Perhaps the "original" General Lee?
There was a small cemetary just across the way from our resort.  Click the tombstone to read the inscription.
Just in front of this tombstone, where three smaller ones, for each of the three family members buried here.
These next shots were done from the Gatlinburg "Space Needle"
Homes and resorts literally built on the mountain!
Downtown Gatlinburg.
A great example of why it's called the "Smokies!"
More of Gatlinburg from above.
Mountains...
more mountains...
and a hint at the upcoming changing seasons.
Way off in the distance, we think is Westgate Resort, our vacation location!

Dollywood
Laurel Falls, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Ripley's Aquarium
Westgate Resort, Gatlinburg
Headin' to Tennessee
