penguin chick pictureHI EVERYBODY!!

Michigan, aside from looking like a mitten (whatever a mitten is,) is actually in two seperate parts, called peninsulas.  Phil and Angie visited both parts.  Here is what they did in the Upper Peninsula.

See you later!

DAY THREE

Our last actual tourist-type day.  We left Cheboygan and the Continental Inn for the Upper Peninsula and out ultimate destination, the Tahquamenon Falls (it's sort of pronounced Ta-qua-me-NON.)  One thing you should know if you choose to travel to Michigan's U.P.; at all costs, avoid the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day.  Every day, thousands of people apparently loose all sense of reason, not to mention their car keys, and WALK, starting from the Upper Peninsula, in one of the north bound traffic lanes mind you, to the Lower Peninsula.  It's an annual charity event, but in the prosess of doing this, they seem to forget that cars heading in the opposite direction are much bigger then they are and that they can get hurt by jumping in front of them!

Having survived that harrowing experience with no injuries or fatalities, we reached the Falls for an afternoon of peace and great scenery!  You can see for yourself below why we went there!

It should be mentioned here that an invisible monster lives in these waters, who will reach out and steal your sunglasses as you lean over to look at the Falls.  You can actually watch them travel completely unteathered down to the rocks and waters below, to be eaten by the monster later!

For those of you who want to know, as well as those of you who don't, the background consists of the key to our honeymoon suite at the Continental Inn in Cheboygan (we asked if we could keep it,) and ticket stubs from the Soo Locks dinner cruise and the Arnold ferry to Mackinac Island.
