HI EVERYBODY!!
First thing every morning on board the Ocean Princess, Phil and Angie would find a newsletter called the Princess Patter, which would tell them about the days' activities. So they decided to do that for you here. Pretty clever huh.
See
you later!
Day 1 - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
September 2, 2000
Our
first view of the M/V Ocean Princess. |
An
exterior view of the Bridge. A tour will take place later in the
cruise. |
Ballantyne
Pier, our point of embarkation to the Ocean Princess |
Riveria
Deck, Room R312. Port side, front section. |
Queen-sized
bed, with an almost endless supply of bedtime chocolates! |
Little
bathroom, little soaps. |
The
cabin was small, but not especially cramped. It contained a TV,
safe and refrigerator in the cabinet. |
The
Riveria Deck was the top full level outside deck. It contained
a swimming pool, splash pool and a couple of hot tubs. |
Towering
above the ship at her stern was the cooling plant cap, which also housed
the athletic court. |
I
say the Princess is looking backwards. Angie says I'm nuts. |
A
good portion of the passengers gathered on the outer rims of deck 14
to watch us leave Vancouver Harbor. |
Vancouver
Harbor was pretty busy, even on a Saturday evening. |
It
not only handles cruise ships, but commercial traffic as well. |
A
nice, serene sunset. |
Ours
was not the only cruise ship in dock that day. There were also
ships from Holland American.. |
...and
Royal Carribean. |
After
returning to our stateroom, we found the door decorated in celebration
of our honeymoon. |
Inside,
we discovered a chilling magnum of champagne, four glasses (two for
souveniers) and... |
...some
VERY yummy chocolate dipped strawberries! |
After
we pulled out of port, a life jacket drill was performed. Very
strange seeing all these people wandering around the ship wearing life
jackets. |
