HI EVERYBODY!!
First thing every morning on board the Ocean Princess, Phil and Angie would find a newsletter called the Princess Patter, which would tell them about the days' activities. So they decided to do that for you here. Pretty clever huh.
See
you later!
Day
2- Inside Passage,
British Columbia, Canada
September 3, 2000
Our first full day on board the Ocean Princess was spent in the Canadian waters of the Inside Passage. The Passage is a long stretch of small inlets and islands between Vancouver and the southern tip of Alaska.
The
Ocean Princess was officially put into service on February 14, 2000.
They don't call them the Love Boats for nothing. |
Ocean
Princess just waking up on Sunday morning. |
Queen
Charlotte Sound, part of what is called the Inside Passage. We
spent the entire day at sea. |
The
first of many spectacular sunrises. |
A
busy, but quiet scene. |
Like
peaking under the covers. |
A
multi-layered backdrop. |
Our
shadow. |
Every
now and then, an island just kind of crops up. |
See? |
Mists
like this would come and go all day. |
Time
for breakfast. |

Twin
glass elevators amidship between decks 5 and 8. |
Behind
the glass elevators on deck 5, this live piano played all day long. |
Looking
up from the elevator platform on deck 5. |
No
words necessary! |
We
dropped off our Canadian pilots here on Triple Island late Sunday night. |
The
sunsets are just as cool as the sunrises. |
We
went exploring the ship and found all kinds of cool stuff to see..like
the anchor room... |
...and
lifeboats... |
...and
liferafts, for those of you in steerage! |
This
is a touched up shot of our wake. |
Basically
the same shot, but with an extended exposure. |
Not
much happening on the Riveria Deck at 11:30 Sunday Night. |
Angie
outside the Riveria Grill. If we were in warmer climes,
this would be open and the pools would be occupied, even this late
at night. |
