HI
EVERYBODY!!
Delays and the road less taken are kind of what Phil and Angie had to deal with on this leg of their journey. We don't have such things here in Antarctica. It's just one big collection of snow and ice, with an occasional sea lion or walrus to keep things interesting.
See you later!
A relatively uneventful start to our day trip. |
Quiet, normal roads. |
Nothing out of the ordinary. |
Like the song says, we could go east, we could go west. |
Where the deer |
and the antelope |
and even the freakin' moose play! |
Driving here is an adventure. |
Case in point. |
Even the road signs have it tough. |
Our trip will take a little longer than we planned. |
Another sign casualty. |
Even "the old man" |
wouldn't consider this |
a tire! |
Check your bags here. |
Lots of mining here. |
So close, yet so far. |
On our journey back, the sights were much different. |
Going up.. |
No stopping or standing here.. |
or here. |
A familiar sight to us by now. |
More rainbows. |
9700 ft and climbing! |
At this height, you get a whole different view of things. |
Quite the view |
and here |
and here too. |
The air isn't the only thing rare this high up. |
This IS ski country after all. |
Check your brakes |
You've been warned. |
