It must be the cold weather here, cause nobody seems to be particularly interested in building much of anything here, much less a fort and then abandoning it.

Along the southern coast of Kaua'i, near Waimea, are the remains of what once was Russian Fort Elizabeth.
There really isn't much to see of Pa'ula'ula, which is its Hawaiian name.
It was pretty cool to wander around the ruins, and of course share the land with the ever-present roosters.
