penguin chick pictureHI EVERYBODY!!

Penguins don't drive, but Angie and Phil do, so they decided to car shopping and this is what happened to them. Mom says my flippers wouldn't reach the pedals anyway (whatever pedals are!)

See you later!

Our first major purchases as married people!

February, 2000 proved to be a pretty exciting month for us. Some things changed in our lives that proved to be both more and less important in ways we didn't imagine at the time. On a slightly less broad but equally important nature, we made some major purchases that month.

After having celebrated Angie's birthday earlier in the week, we did what every other married couple do on Valentine's Day weekend, we went furniture shopping! Our first major purchases as married people started with a headboard for our bed. I also got a new computer workstation (ie: desk). This desk apparently has some special Neutonian physics exemptions because I managed to get everything on a desk that is less than half the size of the old one, which gave us more room in the living room as well! I'm very confused.

The biggie, huge, MAJOR purchase came on February 22nd. Knowing that the lease on Angie's car was going to expire in a couple of days, we decided to go car shopping. Actually, I just went along for the ride. Angela already knew what she wanted, which was a new Corolla. She is very committed to Toyota cars, with this one being her third in a row. Talk about customer loyalty. She never even seriously considered any other brand.

So we trundled off to Evanston Toyota (now closed) and did some shopping.
After a brief walk around the lot, we found THE one.

It was a shiny new Toyota Corolla CE in Silverstream Opalescent.

A brief test drive sealed the deal. We then went into the showroom, checked out the interior of a similar model and then proceeded to do the dreaded paperwork. After a relatively short periof of time, we (well Angie actually) were driving home in our new car!
